The 4 Keys To Using Social Media For Your Realty Business

When it comes to developing your company’s social media strategy, do you just post whatever is on your mind, or do you develop a strategy for each platform you’re on? Most likely you do a little of both, and that probably has been ok for you. But what if you really had a plan for how you were going to create and sustain a presence on social media?

Follow Me

Props to our United States Postal System! With no assistance from me, other than my effort to remove my mailing address from a multitude of senders, the USPS graciously has notified EVERYONE of my new home address. I was slightly concerned I would miss the few remaining Christmas and other holiday cards that travel to me each year via snail mail, but at this juncture, I fear I have not discovered a hiding place safe from forwarded mail.

Make Your Voice Heard about Tax Reform Legislation

The National Association of REALTORS® opposes the tax reform legislation as proposed earlier this month in the U.S. House of Representatives. This bill is a direct threat to consumers, to homeowners and to REALTOR® businesses. Not only will millions of homeowners not benefit from the proposal, many will see a tax increase. Additionally, according to a PwC study, homeowners could lose substantial equity from the more than 10 percent drop in home values likely to result if the bill is enacted.

Associate's Spotlight: Don Craighead Custom Homes

For REALTORS® it is not uncommon to have clients who have purchased the ideal lot, in the perfect area, and now seek your help to find the builder that will construct the home of their dreams. Are You Superstitious?

Many of us would probably immediately answer “no” to the above question since the term “superstition” has been described as a belief or notion, not based on reason or knowledge, in or of the ominous significance of a certain action, thing, circumstance, occurrence, proceeding, or the like. However, it is true that most of us have grown up, if not believing in them, at least having heard about some of the more well-known superstitions.

Associate's Spotlight: Wildcat Lending

A leading private money lender could be the answer for REALTORS® when they, or their investor clients, are looking for funds to purchase residential investment properties. Headquartered in Dallas, TX, Wildcat Lending offers quick financing with easy requirements compared to conventional lenders. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

While November 11, Veteran’s Day, is a day set aside each year to honor those who have served our nation in one of the military services, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a place set aside to honor those veterans who perished in their service during previous wars, but whose remains have never been identified. Arlington National Cemetery was established in 1863 on land previously owned by the grandson of George Washington and it was there that on March 4, 1921, Congress approved the burial of an unidentified American soldier or marine from World War I (WWI). His remains were placed in a crypt within a tomb that sits atop a hill overlooking Washington, D.C. Thus, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is located within the plaza of the then new Memorial Amphitheater which had been dedicated in May 1920.

Blog, Blog, Blog

My rare Letter to the Editor supporting a local columnist’s recent encounter with a major credit card company was rejected! Not for content or poor grammar, but because I did not include a phone number with my submission. The columnist emailed me to acknowledge her appreciation for my support and to regretfully inform me that by the time I got my phone number to the editor, the window of effectiveness had passed, and my comments were RIP (rejected in paper).

Associate's Spotlight: Union Home Mortgage

Union Home Mortgage (UHM) was founded in 1970 and for more than 45 years has continued to adhere to their vision: “to build a world-class workplace by developing people as spiritual human beings first and mortgage professionals second.” Headquartered in Strongsville, Ohio, with strategically located branches in more than half the nation’s states, UHM recently opened a location in San Antonio to offer the city and its surrounding areas an array of mortgage products which include, but are not limited to, FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional, 203k and Refinance loans.

How To Understand Natural Disasters

Unless we have been living in total seclusion and without the benefit of any form of communication of late, we have all become aware of the occurrences of some of nature’s most devastating upheavals or disasters. Many agree that there is a “top ten list” of these naturally occurring events, most of which are weather related, that include landslides/avalanches, droughts, heat waves/blizzards, wildfires, floods, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, tornadoes, earthquakes, and hurricanes. Whether we were personally affected by the recent serious earthquake in Mexico or were in the path of one or more of the most recent hurricanes, we certainly have a family member, a friend or know of someone affected by these events and perhaps prayed for their safety and wellbeing.
